At 6:00 in the morning on 5th April, over 30 pilgrims
gathered at the Chapel to celebrate the dawning
of Easter Day.
The sky was overcast at the start of the day but
soon cleared as the sun rose above the horizon.
The Chapel was in darkness as the preparations
for the service were made.
The Easter fire was lit, our service starting
in the open air.
Here we see Bishop Stephen lighting
the Paschal Candle from the Easter bonfire.
We then moved to the closed Chapel door
where Bishop Stephen called out for the
door to opened for the King of Glory.
Once inside the Chapel, the service continued.
And led into our Easter Day communion.
After the service, Bishop Stephen returned to Bradwell parish church
for an informal breakfast.
